Here is the Older Adult Competency that you will demonstrate:

Advocate for health, social, and financial needs of older adults at the policy level.

 

Here are components that help build this Advocacy competency:

  • Work within political, regulatory, and policy-making systems to advocate for resources for older adults and their families who are unable to do this for themselves.

 

  • Assess community conditions that are instrumental to support maintenance and improvement of health for older adults.

 

  • Challenge narrow interpretations of regulations, policies, and guidelines that limit care for older adults.
